BY CAR
Prospect Light Show, Waterloo
November 28 - December 31
1056 Prospect Boulevard (just south of Ridgeway Avenue)
Updates have been made to this year’s show. There will be three new vertical star bursts and colored lights have been added. The 25 minute light display is synchronized to music so be sure to tune to 103.9 on your car radio. The light display also accepts donates to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and a donation box is located near the driveway. Please be courteous of others when you visit. Do not block driveways and dim your lights.
Waverly Lights, Waverly (20 minute drive)
November 28 – December 31
103 Eliasen Avenue
Tune your radio to KWWW 107.1 and watch the Wiechmann family’s light display dance to the sounds of holiday music! This year’s light show runs Sunday-Thursday, 5:00 – 10:00 pm and Friday-Saturday 5:00 – 11:00 pm. No admission is required, but donations are welcome in the box located at the end of the driveway. In 2018, the Weichmann’s and Waverly’s Domino Pizza raised more than $3,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Lights in the Park, Sumner (45 minute drive)
November 24 – January 1
Sumner City Park (547 Columbia Avenue)
Santa will visit the park every Friday and Sunday, 5:00 – 9:00 pm, before Christmas. Lights in the Park features inflatables, animation, a lighted 30-foot tree plus hot cocoa, candy canes and a warm fire to cozy up to! Lit nightly, 5:00 – 9:00 pm.
Little Light of Mine, New Hampton (45 minute drive)
November 29 – January 1
Mikkelson Park (1013 E. Spring St)
Drive through the park with your radio dial tuned to 99.5 FM to hear music synchronized to their light display. Once a memorial light display, and now in its third year, the community’s display offers visitors the message, “If one person lets their light shine, it will inspire others to gather and do the same.” The park is illuminated nightly, 5:30 – 10:00 pm.
12th annual Festival of Lights, West Union (1 hour drive)
November 29 - December 31
The West Union Recreation Complex is decked out for the holidays! Join Santa for the Grand Lighting ceremony on November 29 at 5:30 pm and enjoy hot cocoa, music, hot dogs and cookies.
