The 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition Iowa Regional is going to be a thrilling event at the McLeod Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus March 27-29, 2025!
What is FIRST Robotics?
- The ultimate Sport for the Mind: Combining the excitement of sports with the innovation of science and tech, this competition is designed for students to solve real-world engineering problems.
- Team Challenge: Students build and program robots to play a challenging game under strict rules, limited time, and resources. Teams also fundraise, create their brand, and collaborate to succeed.
- Exciting Season Finale: The event will culminate in the exciting First Championship, where top teams face off for global recognition.

How Can Families and the Public Get Involved?
- Cheer on Teams: Watch exciting robot matches live at the McLeod Center and support your favorite teams!
- Meet Teams in the Pits: Visit the teams in their pits to see their robots up close and learn more about how they prepare for the game.
- Root for Local Teams: If you have a local team competing, show your support!
- Support STEM: Attend the event to encourage STEM education in Iowa.
- Get Inspired: Experience the amazing innovation and creativity of the students.
- Dress up: This year's theme is Ocean Depths - costumes are encouraged, so feel free to get in the spirit!

Event Details:
- Location: McLeod Center located on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa
- Parking: Available at West Dome and South Art parking lots. There will be a parking fee per car which is TBD.
- Admission: Free entry for all attendees.
- Event Hours: Thursday from 8:30am - 6:00pm; Friday from 8:00am - 5:45pm; and Saturday from 8:00am - 5:30pm.
- Concessions: Saturday from 12:30pm - 4:30pm.
