Freedom Rock
On November 9, 2015, the Freedom Rock in Black Hawk County was dedicated. You'll find it in Veteran’s Memorial Park (14th and Bluff Streets) in Cedar Falls. Artist, Ray "Bubba" Sorenson II, finished painting the rock in September 2015. It features Waterloo’s Five Sullivan Brothers, Robert Hibbs of Cedar Falls and Taylor Morris of Cedar Falls. It’s Sorenson’s goal to locate a Freedom Rock in each of Iowa's 99 counties.
With the dedication of the Freedom Rock, we recognize the service of all U.S. Military Veterans.

The Freedom Rock is part of a planned expansion of the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Cedar Falls, and the committee would like to thank: American Legion, Garth Huffman, Magee Construction, Emerson Crane, Petersen Contractors, Diamond Vogel Paint, Cory’s Painting, Advanced Refinishers and the City of Cedar Falls.
