That’s right. If you haven’t visited College Hill in a while, it’s worth checking out again to see what’s new!
Located n the heart of the University of Northern Iowa campus, College Hill is a vibrant neighborhood with an eclectic blend of restaurants, nightclubs and shopping.
And, there are a few new faces on the block.
Sidecar Coffee is more than a coffee shop. They serve sandwiches for breakfast and lunch and they brew some unique blends of coffee. Have you heard of a Frank Sinatra? A Van Fleet? Maybe a cucumber basil lemonade would hit the spot this summer.
After coffee, visit University Book & Supply or shop at Mohair Pear. Mohair Pear has the flair for vintage clothing, vinyl records and body jewelry.
When it’s supper time, it’s hard to beat a good slice of pizza! Check out the selection at The Other Place or Chad’s Pizza. If you’re not in the mood for pizza, stop in at Beck’s Sports Grill for a craft beer and burger, a Latin American burger or brat at La Calle Latin American Bistro or a quick and delicious sandwich at Sub City.
If it’s nightlife that you seek, look no further than the live entertainment available on The Hill. Octopus supplies a venue for all music lovers and features regional Blues, Rap and rock bands at their club. Gingers Pub also has Live Summer Sundown Sessions and keep an eye out for regular appearances by local rock band, The Pork Tornadoes https://www.facebook.com/ThePorkTornadoes!
Have a hankerin’ for a late night snack of freshly baked cookies? Call on Insomnia Cookies. They specialize in delivering warm, delicious cookies right to your door!
In the summer, you’ll want to visit their open-air market on Thursday evenings from 4 – 6 pm. And, don’t forget their College Hill Arts Festival held every June.
