Pizza Artist TC By Alex Miller Sponsored by Urban Pie Inside 200 State St. #101, Cedar Falls Materials Used Fiberglass, resin, water-based acrylic paint, and outdoor sculpture putty for detailing. The Design (in the Artist's words) "I initially had proposed a punk rock TC wearing a Mohawk and a vest full of patches that displayed various local bands as an homage to the local music scene (something I would still love to do in the future). Weeks later I was emailed a list of sponsor companies looking for something a bit more specific. Urban pie, being one of those businesses, was looking for a pizza chef, and that caught my eye. Outside of art and music, cooking is one of my biggest passions and working in kitchens is something I’ve done for over a decade. Naturally, I was excited to jump at the opportunity to make them a design." About the Artist As a senior studio art major at UNI, Alex dives deep into creativity. While he's all about sculpture, he also dabbles in watercolor and ink paintings, showing off his love for different mediums. Additionally, he nurtures his musical aspirations, aspiring to leave his mark in the world of music. Alex's sculptural endeavors often draw inspiration from his musical background, intertwining the two art forms seamlessly. His innovative creations can be explored on his Instagram profile, offering a glimpse into his artistic journey and multidisciplinary approach. Recently completing his inaugural large-scale metalworks sculpture, Alex found himself on the lookout for new challenges. A fellow student directed him towards Panthers on Parade, just days before applications closed. In a whirlwind of creativity, Alex scrambled to conceptualize and submit his ideas just in time! Alex is a career cook, and has a love for his sponsors restaurant "Urban Pie". Alex is open to receiving requests for additional projects, and can be found at: Instagram: @Alexpilgrim_vs_theworld |
