Forever Young By Amanda Stout Sponsored by Peters Construction Mascot Location NewAldaya Inside - 7511 University Ave, Cedar Falls Materials Used Amanda used acrylic paint for this design. Reflecting on her process, she noted, "The trickiest part of this design was executing all of the dots and circles to evoke the pop art style. I utilized a variety of tools including stencils, markers, and stickers to create these elements, as it was a technique I had never attempted before!" This innovative approach allowed her to achieve the desired effect, adding depth and vibrancy to the artwork. The Design (in the Artist's words) "UNI is a beautiful campus and I wanted to help bring it to life on my design. I thought a unique way to do this was to highlight all of these staples to UNI in a pop art design that would be fun and colorful for viewers. This vibrant design will pop out in any location". About the Artist With over a decade of artistic experience, Amanda has honed her craft across various mediums. Her journey began at the University of Iowa, where she pursued studies in art, specializing in printmaking and ceramics. While her roots lie in these traditional forms, her recent focus has shifted towards painting and illustration. For the past four years, Amanda has been actively involved in public art projects, leaving her mark on communities through vibrant murals and large-scale paintings adorning benches and pianos. She finds immense joy in contributing to the places she holds dear, integrating her art seamlessly into the fabric of these locales. Nature serves as a boundless wellspring of inspiration for Amanda, particularly its intricate patterns. She intricately weaves these organic motifs with geometric elements, creating visually captivating compositions that reflect her unique artistic vision. Amanda's connection to the University of Northern Iowa runs deep. Having participated in the UNI Honor Band multiple times during high school, she developed an appreciation for the campus's charm and facilities.
