The multi-million dollar enhancement of the river area provides new opportunities for fishing, tubing, paddling, and more.
There are multiple water access points for kayaking and tubing, fishing jetties, and aquatic life pools. The area provides safe and easy access to the river for visitors to play, relax, and enjoy the surroundings.

Cedar Falls Announces New Cedar River Recreational Area Name
The City of Cedar Falls is excited to announce that the new Cedar River Recreational Area will be named Gateway Water Trail.
Take a leisurely paddle, or test your skills on class 1-3 courses. | 
Cast from wading areas or jetties. | 
ADA-compliant construction features ensure everyone has access. |
 Park your watercraft at Turtle Back Landing and walk downtown. | 
Shop local at boutiques in the historic Downtown District. |  Enjoy ice cream, lunch, or dinner at more than 30 nearby restaurants. |
