Welcome the crisp, sunny days of autumn with a visit to a nearby apple orchard. You’ll find old standards and varieties you may not have heard of like Sweet 16, Crimson Crisp and Ambrosia. Most apple varieties mature from early September through mid-October. As the season winds down in October, you may want to call ahead to check apple varieties, hours and days of operation.

Blueridge Orchard is a small, family-owned orchard tucked into the hills of Denver, Iowa. Although not a you-pick orchard, you can buy bagged apples and stroll through their beautiful orchard.
Denver is a 20 minute drive from Cedar Falls.

The Jefferson family farmstead provides seasonal fruit throughout the summer and offers apples beginning in July. Farm stand varieties include Cortland, Chieftain, Early Gold, Gala, Goldblush, Honeycrisp and more.
Dunkerton is a 30 minute drive from Cedar Falls.

Winthrop is a 45 minutes from Cedar Falls.
