'Tis the Season for Candy and Treats!

Families and businesses are gathering to celebrate the holidays and sweet treats are likely to be on the menu. If you’re running low on time to bake, Cedar Falls has several local shops that can help you fill in a few gaps on your gift-giving and entertaining to-do lists.
If you heard someone talking about buttery caramels and cream-filled truffles this holiday, they were probably talking about our newest addition to downtown Cedar Falls, Chocolaterie Stam. They have dozens of small, chocolate creations to choose from plus a few selections just for stuffing your stockings – large gold coins, candy bars and foil-wrapped Santas.
Who doesn’t crave the delicious cupcakes of Scratch Cupcakery? Check out their flavor calendar and you’ll find eggnog, peppermint cheesecake and sugar cookie cupcakes on their December menu. We even saw a gingerbread flavored cupcake! Or, choose one of these festive cupcakes that their decorators created.
You’ll find oodles of sweet treats at Main Street Sweets! This family owned business carries Lagomarcino truffles, bulk candy, candy bouquets and candies you may remember from your childhood. Be sure to inquire about Bean Boozled! Main Street Sweets is where “life is sweet.”
If you have questions about any of our other dessert shops, events, attractions, places to stay or places to eat and drink, give us a call at the Cedar Falls Visitor Center. We’d be happy to help. Our number is 319-268-4266 and we’re located at 6510 Hudson Road.
